Tournament Director: Build a plan

Operational reference for build a plan in Tournament Director.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 1 minute read · Application 1.0.6

Build a plan

Create an existing tournament in Sports Hub, then Refresh my tournaments and Load selected. Existing team/entry IDs are offered. Or begin an unlinked local planning draft. Entries are one per line in seed order; optional Hub team ID follows |. Enter courts/fields with optional Hub venue IDs. Names without Hub IDs can be used as scheduling labels; unresolved bracket participants remain winner placeholders on Hub events.

Choose the format, dates, local daily window, IANA timezone, weekdays, game duration, team rest and field turnaround. Build generates a complete local plan or reports insufficient capacity without saving a partial schedule. Bracket scheduling conservatively considers all possible advancing teams. Skipped/repeated DST boundary hours are rejected rather than silently shifted. Change a game's local start time or field in the schedule table; invalid edits are rejected. Check conflicts before publishing.

The first release uses uniform game duration and daily windows. Individual team blackouts, double elimination, pool-to-bracket advancement, automatic winner/result propagation, referee assignments, travel times and custom standings/tie-break rules are not implemented. Set final participants/results through Hub game management and scorekeeping. Split longer seasons into phases when necessary.
