Field Monitor & PTZ Controller: USB controllers

USB controllers

USB starts disabled. Xbox/browser-standard defaults: left stick pan/tilt, right stick vertical zoom, RT held for movement, LT camera picker, D-pad to select a preset, A to recall, and B to cancel the picker. LT picker uses stick/D-pad navigation and A confirmation. Generic USB joysticks can map their pan, tilt, zoom axes and hold button in Controller mapping. Browser gamepad support, mapping and permissions vary; use Chromium/Chrome/Edge and verify the actual device.

Center sticks and release the hold button after connect, camera/controller change or focus recovery. Releasing controls, STOP, focus loss, stale video, disconnection and the existing 0.5-second control heartbeat watchdog send a speed stop. Movement requires a recent frame displayed and acknowledged by the active camera session. Preset recall motion is implemented by the camera; verify your camera's stop behavior during preset recall. Do not allow multiple operators/apps to drive the same camera at once.

Configuration and preset labels live in ~/.ga360-field-monitor/cameras.json (private permissions), outside installed source. Controller mapping is saved in the local browser profile; USB enablement is not restored automatically. Local HTTP binds to 127.0.0.1; mutations require a session token and local origin.
