Single Camera Kiosk: Included OBS and NDI setup — 1.0.1

Operational reference for included obs and ndi setup — 1.0.1 in Single Camera Kiosk.

Included OBS and NDI setup — 1.0.1

On Ubuntu 24.04+ / Intel-AMD 64-bit, bash ./install-linux.sh now installs native OBS 31.1.1+, DistroAV 6.2.2 and NDI runtime 6.3.2 before installing the kiosk. Upstream downloads are pinned by SHA-256 and native library dependencies are checked. The runtime is available to both OBS and native NDI PTZ. System plugin installation makes DistroAV visible to the kiosk's separate managed OBS workspace. Existing native OBS is reused when supported; missing/older OBS uses the official OBS Project PPA. Flatpak/Snap remain separate. The NDI vendor may request license acceptance in the terminal.

Avahi discovery is attempted separately after core checks. An active service is reused; missing packages, service/startup failure or unavailable systemctl produce a warning instead of aborting kiosk installation. NDI camera discovery/reception is unavailable or unverified until that issue is resolved. Required client libraries, OBS/plugin/runtime integrity and other core installation failures remain enforced. Core install success does not certify a live NDI camera. Select the intended NDI sender in existing camera setup and confirm picture, audio and PTZ before use. No source is automatically selected and no stream is started by setup.

A state/executable-aware OBS process check ignores zombies/dead/unrelated processes and reports PID/state for live blockers. Stop real outputs and close OBS before maintenance. python3 obs_package.py status reports the check; python3 obs_package.py install repairs OBS/NDI setup separately. Source Record is not required by the single-camera app's installer; per-camera ISO controls remain a Production Truck feature. Native NDI remains an independently checked camera transport.

For managed upgrades, first update Workstation to 1.0.5, then update Camera Kiosk. Workstation selects the verified staged kiosk updater so older releases receive native dependency setup before app code changes. Earlier Workstation versions should use this full installer. Installation details retain live step/output/error reporting. App rollback restores code while retaining installed system components. Existing subscription/administrator authorization, customer activation, event selection, schedules/truck override, camera/OBS settings, pairing, accounts, recordings, model files and original Python requirements remain. Startup preference is retained unless --autostart is explicitly supplied. Native OBS/NDI and touchscreen operation require checking on the target computer.
