Race Timing System: Graphical racer / bib / RFID assignment
Operational reference for graphical racer / bib / rfid assignment in Race Timing System.
Graphical racer / bib / RFID assignment
Start the receiver using serve as documented above, then open /assign on the same host/port, or click Assign racers, bibs & RFID tags on the timing dashboard. Sign in with the receiver credentials.
- Choose Add a new racer, enter their bib and name, and select a configured race.
- Enter the tag's hexadecimal EPC, or present the tag to a configured antenna and click Use tag in Recently scanned tags.
- Check the racer/tag combination and click Save assignment. The searchable table confirms the saved record.
- To assign an additional RFID to an existing racer, choose that racer from the dropdown and select/enter another tag. Bib/name/race stay locked to the existing identity.
Recent tags refresh every three seconds without clearing form input. Each scan shows whether it is already assigned. Existing tag assignments cannot be overwritten; duplicate bibs cannot identify different racers or races. Saving the identical assignment is harmless. All graphical changes are stored in the same SQLite database with an audit entry. No CSV is required for graphical enrollment; bulk CSV import remains available.
Enroll before the scheduled gun start whenever possible. Enrollment reads use the configured reader/antenna checkpoint mapping and remain in the raw archive; pre-gun reads are excluded from timing. Tags assigned after capture only qualify on subsequent new reads when their race is enabled for that reader. Archived excluded observations cannot become crossings later.
The assignment screen uses the local session's configured races. It does not fetch a Hub roster, reassign protected tags, edit race settings, or submit pre-race roster registrations to the Hub.
Validation note for 0.2.0: assignment API and served page checks passed, and embedded JavaScript syntax passed. A Chromium executable was unavailable, so rendered browser interaction and visual layout were not tested in this environment.
