Templates, previews and publishing organization websites
Prepare a team, course, league or tournament site and test its public navigation.
Separate appearance from data
Website templates control presentation. Team/organization/course information, events, rosters and media provide content. A template preview is not necessarily the published public site, and changing a template does not create missing events or roster records.
Prepare and test
- Confirm the entity and your website-management permission.
- Select the supported template and fill in organization/course contact details and branding.
- Add or associate the intended content: schedule/events, roster, hole information, media or sponsors as applicable.
- Use preview to inspect the actual navigation destinations, mobile layout, contrast and long text. Check more than the home page.
- Publish through the supported workflow and test the resulting public address while signed out. Confirm unpublished content is not being mistaken for a public page.
Common issues
A broken menu link should be reported with the exact source page, clicked label and destination. Missing content may be an association, date/filter or publication issue. A difference between admin and viewer pages can be due to access. Avoid giving attendees a preview URL when the intention is the public site.
Before promoting the site
Verify contact details, main call-to-action, event times and sponsor names. Test on a phone and the venue's typical screen. Use images you can publish and keep private account or staff-only information out of screenshots and public copy.
