Scorekeeper and scoreboard display: prepare the event
Assign the right game, check access and separate scoring controls from display output.
Understand the applications
Scorekeeper operates the event's scoring workflow. Scoreboard Display shows an assigned scoreboard for viewers. They are separate applications with independent installation and assignment. Opening the display does not make you a scorekeeper, and an app entitlement does not automatically authorize editing every event.
Prepare before play
- Verify the intended event, sport, teams and scheduled time in Hub.
- Connect the authorized scoring account and select the correct event. Review the sport-specific setup before entering live action.
- Open the assigned scoreboard display and confirm it shows the same event and expected layout.
- Test readability on the actual screen. Check long team names, score/count/status fields and the intended fullscreen/kiosk mode.
- Establish who is responsible for scoring and corrections so two operators do not make conflicting changes.
During and after the event
Use the sport's supported action/correction workflow and inspect the display after meaningful changes. If a save is rejected, preserve the message and refresh the current state before retrying; do not blindly repeat a scoring action. Complete the event through its intended finalization controls and verify the final result.
Display search problems
Check account, scoreboard assignment, event status and filters. A working browser does not prove the display is assigned. See the app-specific manual for pairing and recovery. If controls are unreadable or off-screen, record app version, screen resolution and desktop/kiosk mode with a screenshot.
