Workstation ownership and credentials
The local setup server binds to 127.0.0.1 only. Host/Origin checks, a private cookie and request token protect changes. Saved settings contain the Hub origin only, no passwords/API keys. Login credentials are entered on the Hub's own origin and session cookies stay in the isolated browser profile. Sign out between operators. Keep the workstation user account/profile private; kiosk is a presentation mode, not OS account lockdown.
The browser sandbox remains enabled. The Linux installer runs per-user and adds an icon and optional desktop-login autostart, without a system daemon. Configure desktop auto-login, display, sleep/lock policy and device access separately. Browser crashes/closures reopen the window; controller crashes are supervised by kiosk_runner.py with bounded backoff. Each restart opens the authorized event picker, not a replayed scoring action. Port conflicts stop duplicate controllers. To shut down the kiosk, stop the launcher/controller through the OS session. Kiosk setup does not require root.
