Update, manually install or roll back an application
Keep Hub and desktop app versions straight and use verified update controls.
Understand independent versions
Sports Hub, Workstation and each standalone application have separate version sequences. Installing a newer Hub package makes its bundled application releases available to the Hub; it does not prove an already-installed desktop app is running that release. Check the installed app version in Workstation and the version shown inside the running app.
Update through Workstation
- Save work and end live operations in the app before maintenance: streams, recordings, active races or other device jobs may need a normal stop first.
- Unlock station administration and check the available release for the intended application.
- Use its Update control and wait for verification, dependency steps and installation completion. Do not launch a second copy during the update.
- Reopen the app, confirm its version and test the specific issue you updated to address. A previously open browser/controller may still be the old process until it is closed normally.
Manual ZIP installation
Use Manual ZIP where provided, choosing the archive for the exact application. The updater validates identity, version and checksums; renaming an unrelated archive does not turn it into a valid package. Keep the ZIP unmodified and use the release's expected checksum when the workflow asks for one. A failed validation is a reason to inspect or redownload the correct file, not bypass verification.
Rollback and recovery
Use the supported rollback route if a retained prior version is available. Preserve settings and user data before changing versions. Do not delete private application data directories to repair an installation without understanding what they contain. Record which version failed, which previous version worked, and whether the failure is installation, launch or a specific feature. Different apps can remain on different version numbers.
