Tournament Director: installation and first launch
Account requirements, Workstation installation, Linux/Mac setup, first checks and recovery for Tournament Director.
What this application is for
Plan tournament brackets and schedules, keep private drafts and publish authorized updates to Sports Hub.
Before installation
Use the Tournament Director package, not a different application or the Hub server package. This documentation was packaged with application 1.0.6. The Hub may offer a later public-current version after administrators publish an update. You need the appropriate application entitlement and any separate event, team, organization or course permission.
Install through Workstation
- Connect the intended account in Account & downloads and unlock station administration.
- Open Application directory, find Tournament Director, and choose its installation action. Wait for verification and dependency setup to finish.
- Open Installed applications and confirm the installed version on its card. Use Installation details if setup failed.
- Open desktop for initial setup. Follow this application's account/device configuration and test its main operation before using kiosk mode.
Independent Linux installation
Extract the ZIP completely into its own folder. Read the included README and run the supplied Linux installer where supported. This release includes install-linux.sh; from its extracted folder, use bash install-linux.sh. Launch as your ordinary desktop user and allow the documented account verification to complete. A localhost page will not work unless the controller has started.
Independent Mac installation
Read this package's Mac instructions and use bash install-macos.command where supplied. The package includes launch-macos.command for its documented launch/build workflow. Verify camera, microphone, local-network and system-audio permissions relevant to this app. Separate dependency setup can be required for OBS, NDI or native audio.
First successful operation
Choose the intended record/device, verify a representative task and inspect the result. Complete a test before the real event. Application access does not automatically grant control over every course, event, team or device. Read the operation/reference articles listed for this application for its actual supported controls.
Update or recover
End live work and save/export required data before maintenance. Use Workstation Update/Manual ZIP or the package's supported update route. Verify the running version after reopening. Keep settings and user data intact; reinstalling is not a way to grant missing permissions. If a step fails, record the exact error, version and OS and use the installation or troubleshooting guides.
