Production Truck: prepare your first broadcast
Go from a local or paired event to verified picture, audio and a deliberate broadcast start.
Prepare the station
Install current Production Truck and its documented OBS dependencies. Connect OBS and verify the intended collection. Have the publishing destination and the account/assignment ready before event time. Use a test destination or your normal private test process for first setup.
Build the production
- In Engineering, configure a standalone event or pair the assigned Hub truck. Paired trucks follow Hub camera and publishing assignments; do not expect a local draft to override those assignments.
- In Camera setup, configure sources or use Assign existing OBS cameras. Inspect each actual picture and verify source/scene identity before assigning a numbered camera.
- Choose readable camera labels. Configure PTZ and teach physical presets separately if the camera supports movement.
- Prepare overlays and audio. Confirm levels, mute states, routing and absence of duplicate capture. Check the Program picture, not only Preview.
- Configure recording paths and required outputs while outputs are stopped. Verify writable storage and the intended recording format.
Run readiness
Use readiness checks and personally confirm picture, audio and destination. Automated connectivity checks do not prove framing, sound quality or correct content. Check the operator-facing Program and any separate projector/multiview. Test one camera cut and overlay action before the real broadcast.
Go live and finish
Start through the deliberate broadcast control and confirmation. Watch the actual output status, audio meters and recording confidence. At the end, stop the intended outputs normally and verify recordings have finalized before closing or updating the app. A lost control connection does not necessarily mean OBS stopped broadcasting.
