Race Course Designer: Install and connect

Operational reference for install and connect in Race Course Designer.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 2 minute read · Application 1.0.5

Install and connect

Deploy Sports Hub 0.0.3146 or newer first. Enable Race Course Designer under Site Admin Studio > Plans > Application access included. Workstation 0.0.22 or newer shows its independent card in All apps and Racing when entitled. Unlock Workstation administration and Install; existing Open/Lock to selected app/Close/Update/Uninstall controls apply.

For independent installation, extract the ZIP and run bash ./install-linux.sh as the signed-in desktop user. Requires Python 3.10+, Tk and Chrome/Chromium. Python uses the standard library only. Installation enables no reboot startup. Explicit startup can be set using python3 linux_kiosk_setup.py install --autostart; disable it with python3 linux_kiosk_setup.py disable-autostart. Do not enable independent startup when Workstation owns the station assignment.

Open from Workstation or the desktop application menu. The default Hub is https://www.gameaction360.com. To change deployment, open Race Course Designer Administration, enter the shared Workstation station PIN and save an HTTPS Hub address without a page path. First independent setup creates an 8–32 digit PIN if none exists; existing Workstation PIN and cooldown protections are reused. Reopen Designer after changing the Hub. The local PIN controls station configuration; it does not grant a Hub subscription or course permissions.

Sign in to the configured Hub in the app window. The app requires both its subscription entitlement and ordinary course-management access. The account can differ from Workstation's download account; each is checked independently. Only manageable courses appear. Site administrators have provisioning access. Keep draft courses unpublished until ready.
