Production Truck: OBS process detection correction — 1.0.3
Operational reference for obs process detection correction — 1.0.3 in Production Truck.
OBS process detection correction — 1.0.3
The installer now checks Linux process state and the executable rather than treating every obs process name as a running OBS engine. Defunct/dead processes and unrelated executables renamed obs do not block setup. It rechecks process identity/state to handle exit/PID-reuse races. A verified live OBS process still blocks shared plugin changes and the message identifies its PID, state and executable. If permissions prevent verification, setup reports that uncertainty separately. It never stops or kills a process.
From this extracted release, python3 obs_package.py status reports the process check without installing anything or showing command-line credentials. bash ./install-linux.sh installs normally. Workstation 1.0.3 or newer can update through the verified staged truck updater. An updated setup helper is rerun even when the third-party dependency versions stay the same, so installer fixes are applied to existing 1.0.2 installations. OBS/Source Record/DistroAV/NDI dependencies, saved configuration, recordings and startup choices are retained. The actual cause on a target machine remains subject to its reported process status; this release specifically corrects confirmed false-positive cases.
