Production Truck: Included OBS package setup — 1.0.2
Operational reference for included obs package setup — 1.0.2 in Production Truck.
Included OBS package setup — 1.0.2
The full installer now handles native OBS, Source Record 0.4.8 (camera ISO recording), DistroAV 6.2.2 (NDI sources/output) and NDI runtime 6.3.2. Run bash ./install-linux.sh from the extracted release. For OBS-only repair, run python3 obs_package.py install. Download/verification/install progress appears in the foreground terminal and Workstation maintenance panel/log. Internet access and sudo authorization are required. When the NDI SDK license appears, type y then Enter to accept, or decline to stop setup. No license is silently accepted.
Automatic setup supports Ubuntu 24.04 or newer on Intel/AMD 64-bit. It rejects unsupported platforms before making package changes. It retains a supported native OBS already installed; if OBS is missing/older than 31.1.1, it enables the official OBS Project PPA and installs native OBS. DistroAV dependencies are resolved through APT. It does not convert or uninstall Flatpak/Snap OBS installations. Run the native engine for this package. Avahi discovery setup is attempted separately; its package/service failure warns rather than aborting core installation. Host/network firewall configuration still applies. NDI HX requires FFmpeg 7+; the installer reports an older version explicitly. Full NDI and HX are distinct input capabilities.
Stop every OBS output, stop the managed engine for maintenance and close OBS before setup; a running OBS process blocks it. Downloads are pinned by SHA-256, with safe archive extraction and actionable failures. A vendor-replaced archive/checksum mismatch stops setup. An installed compatible NDI 6.3+ runtime is reused. Source Record installs in the native system plugin/data directories so the dedicated GA360 OBS workspace can load it. Existing Python requirements, OBS profiles, scenes, credentials, recordings and ISO format preferences remain. Startup is retained unless --autostart is explicitly passed. OBS dependencies are shared system components and are not removed by application code rollback/uninstall.
For managed upgrades, update Workstation to 1.0.3 first. Its verified staged truck updater installs changed OBS dependencies before replacing truck code. Earlier Workstation versions can install truck code without this new setup stage; use the truck full installer when not updating Workstation. Direct terminal updates can use python3 update_manager.py from the extracted new release with the usual target/package/SHA-256 arguments. Dependency failure leaves existing truck code/version intact; partially completed system package installations remain installed and are repaired on retry. Code-only rollback does not roll back OBS/plugins.
After setup, reopen Production Truck, connect OBS and choose ISO recordings → Check ISO support. Map a separate input for each camera, save ISO setup and test MP4/MOV recording and playback. Add/test an NDI camera in OBS and confirm live picture/audio. Installer file/link checks do not certify an actual camera, loaded OBS filter, encoder performance or GPU compatibility.
Upstream sources: Source Record releases, DistroAV releases, DistroAV installation/runtime documentation, OBS Linux installation. Their licenses apply to the upstream downloads; they are not repackaged as GA360 binaries.
