External ISO drives — 1.0.57

Connect and mount an external drive on the computer running OBS. In ISO recordings, click Refresh drives, select the drive for each camera, set a relative subfolder (default ISO/Camera-number), then Save ISO setup while ISOs are stopped. Drives mounted under /media, /run/media or /mnt on Linux and external volumes under /Volumes on macOS are supported. Each camera may use its own drive; multiple cameras may share one.

The saved assignment verifies the mounted volume before recording and refuses missing/replaced/read-only drives or a folder escaping the assigned drive. There is no internal-disk fallback. Reassign after unmounting/remounting a Linux volume. If a drive becomes unavailable, the controller requests a stop only for the affected managed camera ISO; verify OBS and file integrity after interruption. Disconnecting a drive can still damage the active recording. Mount, format and eject using the operating system.

For remote OBS, choose Manual folder and enter the drive's absolute folder on the OBS machine. Inventory and disk checks cannot run remotely. Before an event, test every camera's saved video/audio and the drive's sustained throughput.
