Single Camera Kiosk: Local NDI camera discovery
Operational reference for local ndi camera discovery in Single Camera Kiosk.
Local NDI camera discovery
Local camera setup now includes Find NDI cameras. It searches the network from this workstation for approximately five seconds, shows sender names and network addresses, and keeps the active camera unchanged until you explicitly select and save. No Sports Hub assignment or customer sign-in is needed for local discovery; Single Camera Kiosk still requires station administrator access. The picker distinguishes a missing/unloadable runtime, initialization failure, no visible senders, search timeout and a native SDK failure. A short-lived, bounded helper contains discovery faults; no service or continuous scan is installed. Duplicate sender names are flagged rather than silently choosing one.
The runtime loader supports native macOS dylib locations (including Homebrew and the NDI SDK paths), Linux .so libraries and the existing NDI_RUNTIME_DIR_V6/V5 overrides. Existing receiver runtime/dependencies and network configuration remain. The SDK searches local senders and uses its configured groups/discovery server. If no cameras appear, ensure NDI output is enabled on the camera, check network reachability and wired/Wi-Fi isolation, and allow local-network access for OBS and the app/Python/Terminal host on Mac. Multicast discovery may be blocked by the local network. Camera not listed? accepts explicit camera IPs for an additional lookup, without scanning a subnet. If a camera appears only through that lookup, configure the corresponding external source in NDI Access Manager for OBS/receivers too; finding it in the picker does not prove video reception or PTZ support.
Select a sender and Use selected camera. Truck fills the local camera connection; Save mapping and Create camera input in OBS explicitly apply the new source. Kiosk fills the administrator camera form; Save & test station camera applies it. Official Review reuses an existing OBS NDI source for the selected sender where possible, otherwise creates a new NDI input in a dedicated Review inputs scene, without changing program/preview or starting buffers. Save OBS camera setup afterward to include the angle. Existing sources are not overwritten by this discovery flow.
NDI sender properties now follow the installed plugin's reported schema, including DistroAV's ndi_source_name, with legacy-key compatibility. Plugin defaults govern bandwidth/synchronization instead of guessed text enum values. Binding reads the actual sender property; Kiosk NDI updates preserve unrelated input properties. Search and configured-source lists remain distinct. Actual discovery/video/PTZ on the target LAN and native Mac still require hardware validation.
