Start a golf round and keep each player’s score

Select the course, players and scoring setup, then save and review the correct scorecard.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 2 minute read

Prepare the round

Sign in to the intended golfer account and open the course/round workflow. Confirm the course, tees and holes. If the facility contains more than one course, choose the actual layout you are playing. Check the scheduled date/time and group format before starting.

Set players and scoring

  1. Add the intended players through the supported player search/invitation workflow. Similar names are not interchangeable accounts.
  2. Review the selected game and any team/group setup. A game score can differ from ordinary stroke totals.
  3. Start the round and select the correct hole/player before entering a score.
  4. Use quick scoring or the detailed fields as appropriate. Verify the saved number and move through holes deliberately.
  5. Follow the assigned scorekeeper and player permissions. Do not assume every member can edit every other player's score simply because the group is visible.

Finish and review

Review the whole scorecard, including holes that appear blank or unfinished. Use the supported submission/attestation workflow when required by an event. Check that the scorecard appears in My scorecards under the intended account. An event leaderboard can depend on the round/game settings and eligibility, not only a saved hole total.

Fix common mistakes

If you are on the wrong hole, switch before editing. If a save fails, inspect the error and refresh the current round state before retrying. Do not create a duplicate round to recover a temporary connection problem. For course or tee data errors, report the course/tee/hole rather than changing a score to compensate.
