Site administrators: publish application releases and manage downloads

Separate the application directory from release upload, history and public-current selection.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 2 minute read

Understand the release library

Open Studio → System → Installations & packages → Applications & downloads. This is the Hub administration area for registered applications and their releases. The directory describes applications; release upload/history controls manage packages. These are different from a Workstation computer's Installed applications workspace.

Publish carefully

  1. Use an authorized site administrator account and open Applications & downloads.
  2. Select the release-management/upload area rather than editing directory descriptions to install software.
  3. Upload the exact application ZIP or supported update bundle. Keep each application's identity/version independent from the Hub build.
  4. Review validation and retained history. A package loaded into history is not automatically the selected public-current release in every workflow.
  5. Select the intended version per application and apply the reviewed public-current choices through the supported controls.
  6. Verify the resulting available version from an authorized connected account and test installation on a prepared workstation.

Deployment and desktop installation

Uploading or bundling an app in Hub does not replace an already running local desktop process. Workstation must check the available release and perform the appropriate installation/update. Compare the local installed version and in-app displayed version when verifying a fix.

If a package is rejected

Keep the exact identity, checksum, filename or manifest error. Do not rename another app's package, edit its manifest to bypass verification or overwrite an immutable published release. Preserve the current working release while investigating. Runtime public-current selections and retained history should not be erased by an unrelated Hub deployment.
