Operational reference for detailed installation progress — 1.0.4 in GA360 Workstation.
Detailed installation progress — 1.0.4
Choose Installation details on an application card to view its install/update status, target version/destination, current step, elapsed time, completed/failed steps and live installer output. The wide window refreshes while maintenance runs. Follow output can be turned off to read earlier messages; Copy details copies the displayed report. Errors show the actual subprocess output and exit status rather than only the failed command. Completed/failed output remains available after closing/reopening the view or restarting Workstation. Card/global status remain compact.
Output is captured in chunks so prompts without a newline appear immediately. Enter Linux sudo passwords and NDI license responses in the original terminal; no input is captured by the details view. A heartbeat keeps status current during quiet commands. Logs remain private (0600); each active log is bounded to 2 MiB plus its previous segment, and the viewer reads at most the latest 128 KiB. Results retain elapsed/step history. Details require station administration, close when that session expires, and never restart, stop or bypass an installer. Existing subscription, PIN, kiosk lock, app switching, keypad/input behavior, settings and startup choices remain. Native visual/touch verification still requires the target desktop.
