Race Timing System: SRT

Operational reference for srt in Race Timing System.

SRT

Install FFmpeg with libsrt support plus Tesseract. The page checks FFmpeg's actual protocol list; a build without SRT gets an actionable error. Configure host/IP, UDP port, caller/listener/rendezvous mode, receive buffer in milliseconds, optional stream ID/passphrase, and matching AES key length. Listener binds a local address (commonly 0.0.0.0) while the sending camera calls this computer's IP/port. Caller connects to the sender's advertised host/port. Rendezvous requires both endpoints configured compatibly. Use the same encryption/stream parameters at both ends. The GUI converts receive-buffer milliseconds to FFmpeg microseconds and URL-encodes the stream ID/passphrase.

Source values/passphrases are not saved into SQLite or returned in session status. The capture subprocess holds connection values for its lifetime. Detections, cropped preview and capture output are retained beside the database in <database-stem>_cameras; treat these as private race evidence. Clear the form's passphrase after connection. Sessions/profiles are not automatically restored on restart.
