Race Timing System: Timing workspace

Operational reference for timing workspace in Race Timing System.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 2 minute read · Application 1.0.7

Timing workspace

The default / screen is now a race operations dashboard: session totals, race desk, running clocks, searchable/paginated results, capture telemetry, checkpoints, camera review workload and recent audited actions. No full-page refresh is needed. Telemetry shows received reads; it does not infer whether a reader is connected or healthy.

All screens share a compact Game Action 360 navigation and consistent controls. Racers & bibs combines enrollment, recent scans, a searchable race-filtered directory and collapsible Sports Hub setup. Multiple RFID tags are grouped beneath one racer; camera-only enrollment is identified explicitly. The directory shows 15 racers per page and recent scans show the latest eight from the server's recent list.

Camera review defaults to pending observations and supports status/checkpoint filters, bib/camera search, six cards per page, evidence images, timing basis labels and review actions. Corrections remain in page memory while filtering, paging, refreshing, or saving a different observation. Unsaved corrections do not persist across browser reloads. Counts on this page describe the server's latest 200 observations; dashboard pending counts include all stored observations.

The live display retains race start, clock, ranking, pagination and full-screen controls. Shared navigation is hidden in full-screen mode. All pages and their local assets remain behind the existing timing login. No additional service, build tool or internet-loaded UI dependency is required.

Validation for this release: 25 automated tests passed, including all timing/start/camera tests, overview telemetry, and HTTP checks for workspace pages, protected assets, navigation, CSRF and safe embedded state. All page scripts passed JavaScript syntax checks. Rendered browser/full-screen behavior and real reader/camera hardware were not available for verification. Run python3 -m unittest discover -s . -p 'test_*.py' from this package to repeat the tests. The launcher opens the new overview dashboard.
