Race Timing System: Review observations graphically

Operational reference for review observations graphically in Race Timing System.

Review observations graphically

Open Camera detections from the timing dashboard or racer assignments, at /camera. Each observation shows the detected bib, confidence, timestamp basis, checkpoint and evidence image. Correct the confirmed bib and ISO crossing timestamp if needed, then Approve crossing, Reject, or Undo review. Unknown bib observations are retained but must be enrolled before approval.

Pending/rejected observations do not affect race timing. Approved camera observations join the relevant racer's checkpoint crossings and use the same start/finish, minimum-duration and lap-target rules. Nearby RFID and approved camera crossings are coalesced using the configured cluster gap. Their earliest accepted time is retained; reviewing an earlier camera observation can therefore change a provisional result. Undo/reject removes it from calculations. All review decisions are audited; the original detected bib/time is preserved. No OCR result is automatically published to Sports Hub.

OCR confidence is a recognition score, not a calibrated probability. Bib recognition can misread digits, miss covered bibs or mistake unrelated numbers for bibs. Detecting a bib inside an image region is not proof of exact finish-line crossing or direction. Review the frame/recording and correct its crossing time before approval. For dense finishes and exact official timing, camera field testing and an appropriate line-crossing/reference method are still required.
