OBS replay workflow

  1. Open OBS and configure camera inputs there: NDI, SRT, RTSP, USB/capture card or another installed source type. Each camera is an OBS source with its own properties; scenes may combine sources and graphics. Review selects the source itself, so its buffer does not follow program cuts. Reuse the running Truck OBS for the same cameras rather than opening a second receiver/device.
  2. In OBS enable the WebSocket server and authentication. Open Camera setup → OBS + Source Record replay buffers. Enter the local address and password, then Save & connect OBS. Production Truck's managed OBS uses port 4457; standard OBS commonly uses 4455. Blank password retains the saved password. Successful and failed connection attempts retain the chosen settings; the selected OBS backend retries a saved connection automatically. OBS itself must be opened separately; this app does not start or shut down the shared engine.
  3. Refresh OBS sources. Add one angle per distinct source, give it a label, and set a starting alignment in milliseconds if needed. Choose one to ten minutes of history. Save OBS camera setup creates idle, dedicated GA360 Review Source Record filters without changing the source's device/network properties or unrelated filters. It uses H.264 x264 CBR 6000 kbps, one-second keyframes and AAC source audio into MP4 snapshots. Additional encoder settings can be adjusted in the dedicated review filter while stopped; saving setup reapplies defaults. Old stopped filters for removed angles may be removed manually in OBS.
  4. Start capture starts only these filters' replay buffers. Wait until every angle reports buffering and at least two seconds of history. Each angle adds an encoder and RAM use; test the actual resolution, bitrate, buffer duration, audio and camera count before an event. The plugin also bounds buffer memory internally; requested history is an upper target, not a guarantee.
  5. Select the replay length and seconds before latest footage, then Review from buffer. The app addresses each exact source/filter using Source Record's replay_buffer_save WebSocket vendor request, assigns a unique private MP4 filename and waits for every finalized file. A failed/partial save does not load a mixed set of new and old clips. Live buffering continues during playback. The review and incidents can include full saved buffer clips while the shared playhead limits the selected review window; allow disk space accordingly.
  6. Stop capture stops only the dedicated review buffers. It does not stop the program stream, ISO filters or the OBS program replay buffer. Closing Official Review leaves OBS buffers running; Source Record persists its replay setting across OBS restarts. Stop buffers explicitly when they must not continue/resume. On a disconnected or changed OBS collection, status is unknown and review is blocked: reopen the original collection/connection and stop its buffers before changing setup.

Local OBS is required because replay snapshots must be readable on this workstation. Remote OBS URLs are rejected. Source identity, collection and filter kind are verified; replacing a source under the same name requires rebinding. Camera connection/device/plugin properties are edited in OBS. Do not switch the shared engine's profile or scene collection during a review session.
