Intercom: Troubleshooting

Operational reference for troubleshooting in Intercom.

Updated November 4, 2026 · 1 minute read · Application 1.0.23

Troubleshooting

  • Use Reconnect audio after a network or microphone change. A disconnected host
  • pauses outgoing and incoming audio until a successful room poll restores it.

  • Select headphones in the output menu. Browsers without setSinkId use the
  • system output device. Resume listening handles browser autoplay restrictions.

  • A lost peer expires after 45 seconds; pending private requests expire after
  • 20 seconds. A departed private partner returns the other person to group.

  • For microphone denial, enable browser and macOS microphone permissions, then
  • join/resume again. For an occupied local UI/relay port, launch app.py with distinct --port and --relay-port values.

  • Keep one Intercom window active per station. Use a headset to avoid feedback.
