Single Camera Kiosk: Camera and output support
Operational reference for camera and output support in Single Camera Kiosk.
Camera and output support
- Linux USB/capture video: OBS v4l2 device discovery and selection. The workstation's default microphone uses OBS PulseAudio/PipeWire capture.
- RTSP, SRT, RTMP camera input: installed OBS FFmpeg media source/codec support.
- NDI camera input: installed compatible OBS NDI/DistroAV source plugin.
- Existing OBS camera: select a configured input; it is added to the single-camera scene.
- Publishing: RTMP/RTMPS or SRT ingest. Both use normal OBS streaming status, one-tap/scheduled start and End live stream. Camera input and publishing output are separate choices. SRT requires an OBS build with FFmpeg/SRT support and a reachable server with matching settings. Connection secrets stay out of customer status. See https://obsproject.com/kb/srt-protocol-streaming-guide.
The preview is a periodically refreshed confidence image, not a full-motion return feed. PTZ movement, optical zoom and robotic camera tracking are not included. A single stationary camera and audio source are controlled here.
